New 2322 Men's Shed

The 2322 Shed officially open’s for Business!

Some may say that we just needed another excuse to throw a few snags on the barbie, but for lack of a better occasion the Grand opening of Beresfield’s own 2322 men’s Shed last Friday provided the perfect atmosphere. Two years after the initial inspirational concept for a Mens Shed in Beresfield was sparked by John Bell it was a great and well  attended occasion to officially open the doors of the Old Beresfield Tennis Club Clubhouse now the tentative Men’s domain until the new building is acquired/built on the Crown the land next door.

It’s a great start though and with a shipping container in the back yard full to the boot with machinery and materials an expansion could not come soon enough.

The day was also an opportunity for partner support organisations to showcase their parallel activities and their full support for the 2322 boys. Displays were set up by Compass Housing, Catholic Care, Hunter Prostate Alliance as well as the Central Coast Clusters “Mobile Men’s Shed”.

The official duties  were MC’d by Novacastrian die hard Leigh Maughn who now represents the HPCA. Official Guests included, Deputy Mayor of Maitland  Clr Stephen Mudd, Deputy Mayor of Newcastle,  Member for Maitland the Hon. (Frank) Francesco Terenzini and representative for  the Federal member for Newcastle, Sharon Grierson.
